Pomegranate is unique in its composition, and it is used not only in medicine, but also in cosmetology. It has been scientifically established that the antioxidants contained in pomegranate are several times more active than those found in Chinese green tea or dry red wine. They reliably protect the skin from free radicals, keeping it youthful and healthy. Punicalagin, an antioxidant found only in pomegranate, provides the skin with protection from the effects of toxins and slows down the aging process by almost half.
Ellagic Acid 90% is a polyphenolic compound extracted from Punica granatum (Pomegranate) fruit rinds that enhances the levels of antioxidant enzymes, as well as providing skin lightening effects, UV protection, anti-inflammatory action and wound healing effects. Ellagic acid stimulates skin cell regeneration to promote a more youthful complexion.
The extract can be incorporated in a wide range of skin care products – creams, toners, serums, etc. Ellagic acid is not harmed when exposed to high temperatures for short periods so we would suggest adding pomegranate extract to the heated phase of hot process products such as creams and lotions.
